Genesis 8:20-9:17
The first thing that Noah did when he left the ark was build an altar to the Lord. He took of every clean animal and offered burnt offerings to God. The Lord smelled the soothing aroma and said that He would never again destroy every living thing. God was faithful to Noah, and Noah was faithful to God.
God blessed Noah and his sons and told them to be fruitful and multiply. He gave man charge over the animals and said that they shall be meat for them, just as the plants. His only stipulation was not to eat the blood. God requires the lifeblood for Himself just as He requires the life of every man.
God also said that he who sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed. This is scriptural justification for supporting capital punishment. This is why so many Christians don’t take issue with the death penalty. What’s crazy though is that the same people who are against the death penalty are usually in favor of abortion. Allowing evil to live while killing the innocent is just plain backwards. As it will be in the end, what’s good will be bad; what’s bad will be good.
According to 2nd Timothy 3:1-5, in the last days, people will not love what’s good. They will be lovers of self and money. They will be proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeased, slanderous, without self-control, brutal. Watch the news lately?
Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them who call evil good, and good evil; who substitute darkness for light, and light for darkness…
Well anyway, I digress. God gave the world another chance with Noah and his family, and He made them a promise. He promised to never destroy the earth by flood again. As part of His covenant with Noah, his future generations, and all living things, He placed a token in the clouds as a reminder of that promise. The token is the rainbow.
What’s good will be bad; what’s bad will be good. Any questions?
